I've had insomnia for decades and take meds to make me sleep otherwise i wouldn't. Wonder if this leptin issue applies in this case? I'm also hashimoto's patient and take Armour but CANNOT lose weight. I'm on a healthy diet and exercise 6 days a week. No weight loss no matter how many calories I ingest. Help, KS

Great post. I whole-heartedly agree with the 4th point. Machines often do way more harm than good, and you're cheating yourself out of working extra muscles!

When you use free weights, your body has to recruit extra stabilizer muscles to keep the weights in place as you raise and lower them. On a machine, these muscles don't get used, making you more prone to injury.

The exact time is not that important as much as it should be at least TWICE as long as the concentric phase. If you are off by a second, no big deal.

I have used a 3sec/6sec count and have had great results.

I have been using Dr Orman's HGH Plus for 10 years and it is definitely a great product. It has helped me tremendously and has no side affects since it is a natural product!

Shame on the unscrupulous companies that would knock it to sell their product- if they need to do this , obviously their product can't stand on it's own like HGH Plus can!

Just a quick question. Are you having a 3-4 second count on the negative? Are you driving the weight up with 2 second count on concentric phase? Please advise.

Thank you for your time.

I have a friend who was the National Strength Training Coach for the Olympic Weight lifters in Colombia South America and a Trainer at Celebration Fitness Center. He would always chuckle at the big guys who came in to lift free weights while they did some cardio warm up and then stretch. "They just lost a quarter of their strength! Estan tontas!"
